The Gazeta Warszawska, Endek newspaper, on June 19, commenting on the police investigation and attempts to discover the identity of Pieracki’s murderer, stated editorially that the inquiry should be directed against the Jews if the authorities wished to learn the truth of the matter. The issue of the paper was suppressed by the government.
