A conference of the Federation of Polish Jews in Great Britain was held here for the purpose of considering the political and economic situation of the Jews in Poland and of launching a protest against the persecution of the Jews in Roumania. The conference was attended by representatives of synagogues, Landsmanschaften and various societies affiliated with the Federation.
Leopold Pilichowsky, chairman of the Federation, who presided, reviewed the present position of the Jews in Poland. He pointed out that although the political situation had somewhat improved and the economic conditions had also eased the position of the Jews was still bad.
A resolution was adopted strongly protesting against the unjust and inhuman treatment of the Jews in Roumania, and calling upon the Roumanian Government to protect its Jewish citizens.
