That the Jews were an extremely important element in the upbuilding of Poland, was the statement made by Polish Minister of Commerce Kierdron, who is here in the matter of the Austria-Polish negotiations, to a group of press representatives. He continued by declaring: “I consider the Jewish question very optimisticly. The last, great symptom of the passing of antagonism between the Jewish population and the Poles was indicated at the conference of Jewish merchants who resolved to give hearty support to the Polish State Bank. We consider that the Jews have equal rights. The Polish Government should not be identified with certain incidents which are only the remainders of a dark past; and I hope that even these will be gradually removed.”
