A new anti-Semitic campaign flared up in Poland today as the Nara anti-Jewish and anti-government party, ##ppressed last July after a brief but hectic existence emerged into the open again in various sections of the country and incited the population against the Jews.
Centering activities chiefly in Wilno and Warsaw, the Naras smeared the doors of Jewish lawyers’ and doctors’ offices with signs of “down with the Jews,” while Jewish shops, street lamps and the walls of buildings were placarded with glaring anti-Semite signs.
Anxiety was expressed in Jewish circles lest the new Nara campaign culminate in a series of bloody riots similar to those instigated by them last spring and summer. At the same time hope was expressed among the Jews that the government was fully aware of the Nara menace and was prepared to cope with the hooliganism of the anti-Semitic bands.
