Officials of the district of Kielce have rejected a decision by the municipality of Czestochowa to name one of its streets in honor of the Warsaw Ghetto fighters, it was learned here today. The Jewish Committee in Czestochowa, is planning to continue its campaign in behalf of the project.
Meanwhile, the city council of Tarnow has approved a proposal to name a street where many Tarnow Jews were murdered, “Heroes of the Ghetto” street. The Ziembica city council voted to approve the naming of a street for the Ghetto fighters and also allocated 20,000 zlotys towards the construction of the Ghetto memorial in Warsaw.
