Polish officials were urged today by the Minister of Interior in a special order to “cooperate harmoniously with all citizens” and to acquaint themselves with the provisions of the new constitution.
The Dziennik Narodowy, organ of the anti-Semitic National Democratic Party, which has succeeded the defunct Gazeta Warszawska, today fiercely attacks the changes in the new Polish electoral law.
“The changes in the new electoral law actually mean that the Jews are being given privileges,” the anti-Semitic paper says. “The law provides for one deputy for every 120,000 inhabitants in the towns, while in the villages it requires 180,000 to elect a deputy. The towns are inhabited by Jews, thus the Jews are now placed in a privileged position,” the paper asserts.
