Two Polish policemen have been executed by the Gestapo in Cracow for befriending Jews confined in the ghetto there, according to information reaching Polish circles here today.
The policemen were ordered to accompany Gestapo men who went to the ghetto to seize all available clothing which could be used by the German army. As the clothes were collected by the Gestapo agents they were handed to the policemen to guard until the Germans were ready to take them out of the ghetto. Observing the great distress of the Jews who were being robbed of their last few garments, the policemen contrived to leave two old coats behind. When the Gestapo men discovered this, however, the two were summarily executed.
