Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski apologized in an official ceremony for a Polish wartime massacre of 1,600 Jews. Relatives of those killed in the July 1941 massacre in Jedwabne recited the Jewish prayer for the dead at the ceremony, which was attended by approximately 3,000 people.
