Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski plans to attend Yom Kippur Kol Nidre services at the Fifth Avenue Synagogue in New York, according to the synagogue’s cantor, Joseph Malovany. Malovany, who is friendly with Kwasniewski and has sung in Poland a number of times, said Kwasniewski will be in New York for the U.N. General Assembly and asked if he could attend synagogue in order to hear an authentic Kol Nidre service.
