An appeal to President Roosevelt to facilitate the entry of child refugees to America, praise for the relief work of the Joint Distribution Committee in occupied Poland and an appeal for support of the United Jewish Appeal were voiced in resolutions adopted at a conference at the Temple Emanu-E1 sponsored by the American Committee for Polish Jews.

The conference, attended by 200 delegates from Jewish fraternal organizations and unions in the metropolitan area, in another resolution expressed the “steadfast belief” that the new Poland will be based on the principles of liberty, democracy and equality for all of its inhabitants. The resolution rejected the “emigrationist and evacuationist” conceptions with respect to the Jewish population of Poland, maintaining that it must be recognized as an integral part of the country. The conference was presided over by Abraham Goldberg.
