An agitation to bring about legislation prohibiting the performance by Jews of the Abrahamitic rite, circumcision, has been started by a group of Polish students at the medical school of the University of Warsaw.
The group has submitted memoranda to the government and to social organizations declaring that Poland, being a fortress of civilization between the East and the West of Europe, cannot tolerate within its borders the survival of “barbaric rites.” In addition, the memoranda state, the government ought to be interested in the abolition of the Abrahamitic rite because it weakens Jewish young men, making them unfit for military service.
