The Council of the Government party, Camp of National Unity, in conference today, was reported to have discussed proposals to spur its drive for Jewish emigration from Poland and for “Polonization” of trade and industry.
The Council considered a suggestion that the Government acquire two ships to transport Jewish emigrants overseas free of charge, newspapers said, and also a proposal that the government strengthen Christian loan banks by subsidies to fight the Jewish loan banks subsidized by the American Jewish joint distribution committee, which the party considers to be the chief obstacle to “Polonization” of trade and industry.
A resolution was adopted, to be published Saturday night, whose content is materially the same as the declaration of Col. Adam Koc, founder of the party, on Feb. 27, 1937, which condemned anti-Semitic violence but backed the “polonization” campaign, it was learned. The conference opened yesterday, and today’s session was reportedly devoted to the Jewish question.
