An urgent request to admit into Palestine at least 250 Chaluzim from Poland was forwarded to the Jerusalem Executive in a joint petition of all Zionist groups in Poland.

The action was taken at a session of representatives of the Zionist organization of Poland, the Mizrachi, the Hitachduth, the Poale Zion, the He’ Chalutz and Hashomer Hazair.

This course was decided upon when the plight of many young men and women who have gone through a training of several years preparatory to their intended emigration to Palestine was described. The spokesmen for the He’Chalutz organization contended that if no outlet is provided for these trained young men and women the entire Chaluzim movement in Poland will be threatened with extinction.

George S. Steinberg, alderman, is a candidate for mayor of Council Bluffs. Iowa, at the primaries which will be held in February. Mr. Steinberg has been a merchant in Council Bluffs for 21 years.
