Police are seeking a possible political motive in the murder Monday of Aziz Ali Sherif, son of All Sherif, a former member of the Jordanian parliament who recently called for the establishment of a Palestinian government-in-exile. The victim was shot to death by unknown assailants who abducted him from his Hebron home. His body was found on a road on the outskirts of the West Bank town. The elder Sharif appeared on Israel’s Arabic political television program two weeks ago and supported a proposal by President Sadat that the Palestinians set up a government-in-exile which Egypt would recognize.

The Israel Cabinet decision this week to retain the 40,000-limit on Arab workers from the administered territories was regarded as a setback to those who have sought closer ties between Israelis and Arabs from the territories.
