The Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano today published the text of an address by the Pope deploring terrorism, which was made to an Arab delegation which called on him last week.
“We condemn all recourse to force and violence, wherever it comes from, even as we condemned repeatedly in the past the persecutions which a fanatical anti-Semitism unleashed against the Hebrew people,” the Pope said.
He added that a prerequisite to a peace in Palestine founded on “truth and justice” was that “the rights of others, or certain acquired positions and tradition, especially in the religious field,” would be respected.
