Pope Pius yesterday received Chief Rabbi Anton Zolli of Rome, with when he spoke for a half-hour, it was disclosed today.
It is understood that Rabbi Zolli expressed his thanks and those of the Jewish community for the moral and material assistance given the Jews of Rome during the German occupation of the capital. Aside from sheltering many Jews, the Vatican contributed funds to meet a ransom demand of the Germans.
