The position of the world Zionist movement in the light of the existence of the Jewish state will be one of the major problems to be discussed at the conference of leaders of European Zionist groups which will open in Paris on Sept. 16, it was announced here today. Delegates from all countries in Europe where the Zionist movement functions will attend the conference.
The parley will decide on proposals to be presented to the forthcoming World Zionist Congress regarding the future of the Zionist movement throughout the world. It will also discuss methods for an intensified campaign to attract Chalutzim to Israel. Problems dealing with private capital investments in Israel will also be dealt with by the delegates.
The delegation from Britain will include eight General Zionists, six Mizrachi envoys, four Labor Zionists, two Revisionists, while the applications of other Zionist groups in this country, including the Mapam and WIZO, are still under consideration. During the conference, a plaque honoring the Memory of Theodor Herzl will be unveiled at the Paris hotel where the Zionist leader wrote his “Judenstaat.”
