Mayor LaGuardia yesterday swore in at City Hall Louis S. Posner, as a member of the Teachers’ Retirement Fund Commission. Mr. Posner succeeds C. S. Moldenhauer, Brooklyn banker, who recently failed to be reappointed to the Board of Education.
Mr. Posner has been a member of the Board of Education for the past three years. His term on the board expires in May, 1938.
He is an ardent Zionist and was a delegate to the World Zionist Convention in London in 1920. Mr. Posner has been actively concerned with Jewish affairs in this city for many years. He is a director of the Hebrew Sheltering Guardian Orphan Asylum and for twenty-five years has been president of the New Era Club, a boys’ club on the lower East Side.
