Post-war immigration into the United States from the standpoint of the national and international situation will be discussed at the annual meeting of the members and Board of Directors of the National Refugee Service which opens tomorrow at the Hotel Commodore. The meeting will conclude on Sunday with addresses by William Rosenwald, president of the organization, and other prominent speakers.
In a statement issued today, Mr. Rosenwald said: “We are now completing ten years of nationally organized assistance to victims of persecution and war who have found a haven in the United States. The National Refugee Service is rounding out its fifth year of operation. During the decade 260,000 newcomers to this country, of all nationalities and faiths, have been assisted in making the adjustment to American life. The annual meeting of the National Refugee Service will consider and plan for the tasks of the present and the responsibilities which may confront us after victory, in the light of the experience of the past years.”
