Non-Jewish clerics of all denominations have sent congratulatory messages to Chief Rabbi Gustav Sicher on the occasion of the U.N. decision to establish a Jewish state in Palestine. Massages were received from Dr. M.S.Novak, Bishop of Prague; Karl Cardinal Beran, Archbishop of the Catholic Church in Czechoslovakia; the Exarch of the Greek Orthodox Church and the Chaplain of the Church of Scotland in Prague.
