An anti-Jewish demonstration broke out in the German university here today, necessitating the intervention of the rector.
The lights in the university were turned out and thousands of leaflets were distributed among the students, calling for a general strike against “the excessive number of Jews enrolled.”
The call for a strike was issued under the slogan “against Jewish professors—for a German university.”
Fearing unfortunate developments, the rector of the university immediately invited the leaders of the student council to a conference and asked them for an explanation of the incident. The leaders declared that they were puzzled by what had happened and professed complete ignorance.
