Communication to the Editor
Sir:
I have read with a great deal of interest today’s “Bulletin,” regarding the $110,000 of emergency relief fund, that has already been sent by the Joint Distribution Committee to the population of Bessarabia, Lithuania and part of Poland.
I also note the statement in your report that from California, there was sent some $2,850. In fairness to the Roumanian-Bessarabian Relief Committee, permit me to advise you that they have already sent the sum of $6,080, or a total of 1,000,000 Lei-$5,000 of which was obtained upon a note signed by myself, R. S. Cooper and Leon Fischer, and this before the sum was collected.
Sums are now being collected, and forwarded direct. The joint distribution committee is certainly deserving of a vote of thanks for the wonderful work and immediate relief, they are President, United Roumanian Jews of America, affording our people there.

Fire destroyed the nurses’ residence of the New York Guild for the Jewish Blind. Rebuilding will cost $25,000 and the committee is seeking to raise the amount without a campaign.
