A warm tribute to the loyalty and patriotism of the Jews of Jugo-Slavia was paid by Premier Pera Zhivkovitch today in replying to greetings from a delegation of Jews who called on him to express the gratitude of Jugo-Slavian Jewry for the recently promulgated Jewish religious communities law. This law provides many facilities for the Jewish population of the country and places Judaism on a par with other religions.
The Jews always enjoyed complete equality in Serbia, the Premier said, the government never having made any distinction between people on religious grounds. The Premier told the delegation that the Jews of Jugo-Slavia, especially those of Belgrade, were, during the War and afterwards in the constructive period of peace, always in the van of those who fought for the South Slavic ideal.
