Preparations are under way here for celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Keren Haeysod, through which millions of dollars have been funnelled into Palestine by Jews all over the world for development and reconstruction of a Jewish homeland. The official celebration will be held in October, according to an announcement today by the organization’s headquarters.
Statisties released today disclose that at the end of last year approximately 74,000,000 pounds were on deposit in Palestine banis. During the year, Jewish banks extended 11,000,000 pounds in credits, Arab banks 4,000,000 and foreign banks 2,000,000. There are 25 banks and 84 financial cooperatives operating in Palestine at present.
