David Ben-Gurion, head of the executive of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, said yesterday that there was no reason to fear arson, knifing and possible attacks because the Jews were prepared for them.
He declared to 15,000 persons assembled to celebrate Jewish Colonization Day at the Levant Fair grounds in the north of this all-Jewish city that the main issue was political.
"Zionism faces a serious danger," he said. "We shall not permit re-discussion of the obligations given to us by the entire civilized world. Such an attempt will meet with our emphatic ‘no.’"
He added that the Zionist policy "has been and remains cooperation with the Mandatory Power (Great Britain). However, in order to reach our aim, the Palestine Jewish community and the Jewish nation will fight, not only to maintain our positions but to strengthen them."
Menachem M. Ussishkin, head of the Jewish National Fund, emphasized that immigration and land are the basis of the Jewish position in Palestine.
