President Zalman Shazar cabled his good wishes to the founding conference of the American Zionist Federation. He expressed the hope that the new Federation would succeed in its work for the realization of the Zionist idea, the continued existence of the Jewish people and the strengthening of the State of Israel. The President urged American Zionists to redouble their efforts for the promotion of Jewish education in America. On behalf of the Zionist Executive in Jerusalem, Its acting chairman Dr. Israel Goldstein cabled the Federation expressing his conviction that the founding of the Federation would launch a new period and would strengthen the Zionist movement at a time when internal Zionist unity and solidarity are essential.
