More than 150 people assembled here at a good-will dinner tendered by the men of the First Presbyterian Church of this city, of which Dr. J. Blanton Belk is the pastor, for the men of the Ohev Sholom Temple, of which Rabbi Abraham Feinstein is the leader.
“Our business interests intertwine and overlap,” declared Dr. Belk at the dinner. “Our social contacts are more and more real and genuine. Why not find in our religions a common meeting ground?” Rabbi Feinstein in his talk said: “I believe that before a true religious fellowship between Jews and Christians can be established we must all rid ourselves of our sense of superiority. Friendship can only exist between equals, never between inferiors and superiors.”
