President Bush’s National Security Strategy calls for an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Echoing many of the comments in Bush’s June 24 speech, the strategy, which was submitted to Congress last Friday, calls for an “independent and democratic Palestine” and pledges that the United States will work with a “reformed Palestinian government on economic development, increased humanitarian assistance and a program to establish, finance and monitor a truly independent judiciary.”
