President Clinton is expected to sign a free trade agreement with Jordan. The pact, signed by King Abdullah at the White House, will phase out tariffs on textiles, farm goods and other goods within 10 years. Observers believe the U.S. is using the pact to acknowledge Jordan’s support of the Middle East peace process.
