President Calvin Coolidge sent his felicitations to Louis Marshall on the occasion of his seventieth birthday on Tuesday. The President wrote:
“My heartiest congratulations to you on your completion tomorrow of seventy useful years. May it be a very happy day and may your strength be preserved to carry on your good work. Your fine legal attainments always are used to further justice for all and your intelligent interest in public causes has made you an outstanding citizen for many years. My best wishes for health and happiness.”
In a cablegram signed by Osmond E. D’Avigdor Goldsmid and Claude Montefiore, Joint Presidents, Mr. Marshall is congratulated on the occasion of his seventieth birthday by the Joint Foreign Committee of the Board of Deputies and the Anglo-Jewish Association. The cablegram read:
“The Joint Foreign Committee of the Board of Deputies and the Anglo Jewish Association offer you their warmest congratulations on your seventieth birthday and hope that you may be long spared to continue your great record of service to Jewish progress and the defence of Jewish rights.”
