No curtailment of assistance to racial and religious persecutees is contemplated when the new Bavarian government takes office, Hans Ehard, president-elect, today told a Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent.
Ehard gave assurances that the Office for Political and Racial Persecutees, headed by Dr. Philip Auerbach, would be continued during his administration. Declaring that he was satisfied with Dr. Auerbach’s record in office, he promised to keep him there. He added that activities undertaken by the out-going administration for relief of persecutees, such as welfars grants and restitution laws, would also be carried over.
