President Ephraim Katzir will be the patron of the Tenth Maccabiah Games–the Jewish Olympics–to take place in Israel in July, 1977. The Tenth Maccabiah will be the largest in terms of events and participants. Thirty-three countries have confirmed their participation. The American delegation will comprise the largest contingent, after the Israelis, coming from abroad. Several Latin American countries will also sent large contingents. These include Guatemala and Colombia.
