I am deeply interested to learn that the Washington Hebrew Congregation is about to celebrate its seventy-fifth anniversary and I will be obliged if you will extend to it my cordial congratulations and best wishes for continued success in service of the spiritual life of the people, President Hoover writes in a message to the celebration gathering arranged by the Washington Hebrew Congregation to-day on the occasion of the 75th. anniversary of the founding of the Congregation and the simultaneous 27th. anniversary of Rabbi Abram Simon’s position as head of the congregation.

For the first time in the history of the Washington Hebrew Congregation, two Christian bishops took their places behind the pulpit of the synagogue last night for the Friday night service, joining in worship with the members. They were the Right Rev. James E. Freemen, Bishop of the Episcopal Church and the Rev. Dr. William F. McDowell, Bishop of the Methodist Church. Another participant in the service was Fev. Dr. Mlysses G.B. Pierce, pastor of the Unitarian Church of Washington.
