President Johnson Leaves Resignation Question Up to Ambassador Goldberg

President Lyndon B. Johnson has informed Ambassador Arthur J. Goldberg, U.S. envoy to the United Nations, that he would not stand in Mr. Goldberg’s way if the latter desires to resign, official sources disclosed today. All the White House would say for the official record, however, was that Mr. Goldberg had not yet tendered his resignation.
