President Nixon has sent a personal letter to Maj. Gen. Chaim Herzog, chairman of the board of the Keter Publishing Co., praising the new Encyclopaedia Judaica which Nixon recently received as a gift from Israel’s President Zalman Shazar. Nixon thanked Herzog for having come from Jerusalem to accompany Israel’s Ambassador Yitzhak Rabin to the White House when he made the presentation on behalf of Shazar. The President also expressed gratification that Americans played an important role as contributors to the Encyclopaedia Judaica.
