President Adolfo Lopez Mateos lauded today the role of Mexican Jewry in contributing to the Government’s program for the expansion of the nation’s educational facilities.
The President praised the Jewish efforts in the educational field at the opening of a new school building in the town of Teloloapan, a few miles south of here, which was financed with the help of Elias Sourasky, prominent Zionist and Jewish communal leader. This is the second Mexican school building financed through the aid of Mr. Sourasky who heads a local bank. The new school is named for former President Adolfo Ruiz Cortines.
