The President of the U. N. General Assembly, Dr. Luis Padilla Nervo of Mexico, today asked the Iraqi delegation at the United Nations for information on the case of the two Jews sentenced to death by Iraq for alleged subversive activity on behalf of Israel.
The action was taken by the Assembly president following an appeal several days ago by Ambassador Abba S. Eban, Israel’s chief delegate to the United Nations, urging him to request clemency for the two doomed Jews.
