President Truman today congratulated the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America on the completion of a quarter of century of activity in behalf of Israel’s youth. The President’s message cheered preliminary meetings planning the four-day conclave which will see more than 1,000 Mizrachi Women delegates, representing some 50,000 members throughout the country, begin deliberations on the expansion of child-cars and social-welfare activities conducted in Israel by the organization.
Foreign Minister of Israel Moshe Sharett will be the principal speaker at the keynote session of the convention tonight. Sharing the platform with him will be Rep. Jacob K. Javits of New York; Mrs. Lionel Golub, national president of Mizrachi Women; and Mrs. Bessie Gotsfeld, of Tel Aviv, honorary national president and Israel representative of the organization. The convention will continue through Wednesday, adopting a budget for the coming year’s activities and electing national officers before it adjourns.
