President Truman sent a message of congratulations to President Dr. Chaim Weizmann of Israel on the occasion of his election as first President of the new state, the State Department announced today. The message as sent to Dr. Weizmann in Tel Aviv, the announcement said. The message follows:
“I send you my heartiest congratulations upon your election as first President of Israel. You have my test wishes for a happy and successful administration.”
