President Vargas of Brazil sent a message of felicitations to Dr. Chaim Weizmann of Israel, President of the new state, on the occasion of the Jewish State’s third anniversary. President Vargas’ message said: “I want to express very sincere wishes in the name of the people of Brazil and in my own behalf for your personal happiness and for the prosperity of the Israel people.” A large meeting commemorating the anniversary was held by the Jewish community here.
