President Weizmann May Decide Today Whom to Entrust with Formation of New Cabinet

President Chaim Weizmann will decide tomorrow or Thursday whom he will entrust with the task of forming a new Israeli Cabinet, it was learned here today.

Meanwhile, the left-wing Socialist Mapam Party announced that its members in Parliament will vote against Premier David Best Gurion’s latest plan for an interim Cabinet functioning without an agreed upon program.

The executive committee of the Hapoel Hamizrachi, the religious workers party, today endorsed the position taken by its deputies and Minister of Interior Moshe Shapiro on the education vote which led to the resignation of Ben Gurion’s Cabinet. The Hapoel Hamizrachi is part of the Religious Bloc.
