President Chaim Weizmann and his wife, accompanied by a group of guests, today visited the “Beit Lin” immigrant reception camp. Thousands of newly-arrived Jews cheered the visitors who later inspected the camp’s hospital and school facilities.
Immigration Minister Moshe Shapira, in a brief ceremony, thanked the Israel President for visiting the immigrant center. “The cheers of enthusiasm with which the immigrants greeted your arrival here is testimony of their loyalty to you for the redemption of Israel,” Mr. Shapira told Dr. Weizmann.
