“The Presidents’ Conference, as constituted in April, 1959, carrying on its tasks in the field of American Jewish interests concerning the State of Israel and related matters, was now fully regularized, “it was announced here today by Philip M. Klutznick, president of the Conference in which 18 major American Jewish organizations are represented.
Asked whether the Conference had considered the broadening of the sphere of its interests or other recommendations for change in policy and program, Mr. Klutznick added that at the last meeting of the Presidents’ Conference held in New York, several of the 18 organizations of the Conference, acting through their presidents, had made such suggestions. These were considered at length and the Conference voted unanimously empowering him to appoint a committee that would study the problems involved and in due course report its findings to the Conference for its consideration and disposition.
