The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations announced today that it has been asked by various American-Jewish groups to coordinate all nation-wide activities In connection with the celebration of Israel’s 25th anniversary. Jacob Stein, chairman of the Conference, has already left for Israel to confer with government officials there on the matter.
The organizations that approached the Conference here included the United Jewish Appeal and the Israel Bond Organization, the Conference spokesman said. He said further that following his talks in Israel, Stein would lead a delegation of observers representing the Presidents Conference to the plenary sessions of the World Conference of Jewish Organizations (COJO) in Geneva July 7-10.
