The presidents of the major Jewish organizations, who have been meeting from time to time for the past two years to consider special Israel problems of concern to the American Jewish community, announced today that they have held a series of consultations in the past few weeks on urgent developments in the Middle East.
The announcement said that the presidents are on call for further consultations should the situation require it. A special subcommittee of the presidents is in close touch with the State Department in this matter, it was emphasized.
