Dr. Chaim Weizmann, president of the Jewish Agency, today addressed a private gathering of 150 members of Parliament on the Palestine issue.

Prime Minister Attlee made no statement on Palestine when Parliament reconvened today. Replying to a question regarding the Government’s policy in connection with the White Paper, the Prime Minister said that he had no statement to make at present, but hoped to make one “at an early date.” Answering another query, Mr. Attlee said that the statement which he intends to make “will obviously be given before any action is taken.”

The London News-Chronicle today expresses the belief that the majority of the Labor Party will not be satisfied with a monthly quota of 1,500 immigration certificates, which the Labor Government has offered to the Jewish Agency.
