The White House announced today that Prime Minister Levi Eshkol will come to Washington early in February on an “informal visit” as the guest of the President and they will discuss “topics of mutual interest.” It is believed that meetings between President Johnson and Mr. Eshkol will take place on Feb. 7 and 8.
Mr. Eshkol will probably stay in the Blair House, the President’s formal guest facility across the street from the White House, it was learned. His visit was categorized as informal but he will be the guest of President Johnson.
At San Antonio, Texas, George Christian, spokesman for President Johnson, said “this will be a private visit.”
