Priority in immigration of Jewish victims of Nazism in Europe will have to be given to tens of thousands of orphaned Jewish children who are stranded and helpless in the countries liberated by the Allied armies, Bernard Joseph, legal adviser to the Jewish Agency for Palestine, declared at a press conference here. Mr. Joseph just arrived in this country from Palestine.
“The Jews of Palestine,” Mr. Joseph reported, “were gratified by the recent pronouncement of President Roosevelt, pledging his support for the program of establishing Palestine as a Jewish Commonwealth. They trust that in the Just peace which the principal Allied Powers have repeatedly declared their determination to ensure when the war is won, justice will also at long last be done to the Jewish people.”
