A private company sponsored by Sir Isaac Wolfson, the British financier and philanthropist, is guaranteeing the investments that immigrants and other local businessmen make in Israeli enterprises, the Government of Israel Investment and Export Authority reported here. The Investment Guarantee Corp. Ltd. will insure the investors against economic failure or loss of any investment in the course of normal business activities. A single guarantee will cover up to 75 percent of an investment or $50,000, whichever is smaller. Eligible for guarantees are new projects and funds invested in the expansion or development of existing businesses. The guarantees are intended to support the enterprise until it becomes self-sustaining.
