Jews here were angered by the action of the Progressives, a Jewish pro-Communist group who took part in ceremonies honoring the freedom fighters of the Warsaw Ghetto under the sponsorship of the Polish Ambassador to Mexico.
Elsewhere in this city, various groups held commemoration ceremonies honoring the 25th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. The Bund, the Jewish Socialist Party, and the Society for Culture and Help held a memorial meeting while a rally was held for the general public at the Jewish Sport Center. Nidchai Israel, the Ashkenazi congregation, will hold a mass meeting this Thursday to honor the martyrs who died in the ghetto rebellion.
